Stoneleigh & Auriol Neighbourhood Plan

We are pleased to annound that the Stoneleigh and Auriol Neighbourhood Plan has now passed independent examination and was approved by the EEBC on the 25th of November 2025 to move forward to a referendum. 

The anticipated date for this referendum is the 12th of February, 2026, when residents in the Neighbourhood Area will be asked whether they want the Plan to be used in deciding local planning applications. 

A “Yes” vote will mean our community’s priorities, character, and green spaces have stronger protection for the future.

With regard to the actual referendum, we have been informed by EEBC of the following:

• The EEBC democratic services team will be responsible for the referendum side of things. 
• Post referendum, assuming the majority vote yes, the Councils Licencing and Planning Policy Committee will decide whether to ‘make’ (formally adopt) the Neighbourhood Plan so that it becomes part of the Development Plan. This is anticipated to take place in March 2026.
