We are pleased to announce that the Stoneleigh and Auriol Neighbourhood Plan has now passed independent examination and was approved by the EEBC on the 25th of November 2025 to move forward to a referendum.
The referendum will take place on the 12th of February, 2026, where residents in the Neighbourhood Area will be asked the following question:
"Do you want Epsom and Ewell Borough Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Stoneleigh and Auriol to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"
A “Yes” vote will mean our community’s priorities, character, and green spaces have stronger protection for the future.
Further information and documentation in relation to the referendum can be accessed from the following EEBCwebpages:

· Elections and Voting SANP Referendum
Post referendum, assuming the majority vote yes, the Councils Licencing and Planning Policy Committee will decide whether to ‘make’ (formally adopt) the Neighbourhood Plan so that it becomes part of the Development Plan. This is anticipated to take place in March 2026.
This is a huge moment for our area — and one that belongs to all of us who care deeply about Stoneleigh and Auriol. Whether you came to a workshop, filled in a survey, shared your thoughts online, or simply cheered us on… thank you. Your voices have shaped this Plan from the very beginning.
News of this even made the local press! You can read the article here on the Surrey Live website.
